MUSIC HISTORY

UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA-full-time, tenure-track position in
musicology expected to begin 19 August 2002, rank open.  All areas of
specialization will be considered, with preference given to medieval
studies, film music, or American music; competence in performance
practice, ethnomusicology, or cultural studies desirable.  Teaching
responsibilities to include both graduate and undergraduate courses.
Qualifications: Ph.D. in Musicology by 1 July 2002, outstanding record of
successful teaching and research.  Send by 14 Jan. 2002 a detailed letter
of interest; curriculum vitae; and three current letters of recommendation
