Dear colleagues,

next year's GI_Forum, one of the major scientific exchange hubs in the 
community, will take place in Salzburg, Austria *05-08 July 2016*. We 
are now welcoming your contributions, with a submission deadline on *01 
February 2016*.

Together with Joao Porto de Albuquerque, I would like to draw your 
attention to the special session *Urban Geoinformatics* 
(http://www.gi-forum.org/urbangi), discussing issues of citizen 
engagement and VGI analytics for Smart Cities. I enclose the call for 
papers for the GI_Forum conference and the special session.

Please distribute the call in your network and consider yourself taking 
part in the session with paper contribution. Accepted papers will be 
published in the *Open Access jo**urnal* "GI_Forum - Journal for 
Geographic Information Science":
