Dear Colleagues,
please find attached the 2nd Call for Papers for the Environinfo2021.
This year is the Enviroinfo2021 integrated into the the annual
conference of the German Society for Computer Science 2021 Informatik
2021 as the focus of Informatik 2021 is Computer Science and
Sustainability. This gives our research high visibility in the German
speaking Computer Science, Industry, Government and Digital Politics
communities.
I would like to draw your attention to the Special Track
“Earth System Observation and Computational Analysis for Sustainable
Development”.
This track especially addresses contributions in the following areas:
• Recommended Practice to EO based measurement and monitoring of
SDG indicators
• Combining EO sensor data with terrestrial and sensors to monitor
SDG indicators
• EO and Spatial Information to monitor the effects of
Environmental Agreements
• EO based environmental risks assessment and Early Warning Systems
• Matching EO data to indicators and the information gaps
• Extracting SDG Indicators from Big EO Data Streams
• Forecasting SDG indicator development with Digital Twins
• Case studies how EO supports Sustainable Development by enabling
informed decision making

An: 'Wohlgemuth' <Volker.Wohlgemuth at HTW-Berlin.de>,
Dear Colleagues,
it is our great pleasure to invite you again to attend the international
conference EnviroInfo 2021! The 35^th edition of the long standing and
established interdisciplinary conference series on leading environmental
information and communication technologies is planned in Berlin in
September 2021 (27^th – 29^th ) as a virtually or hybrid event.
On behalf of the programme committee we invite contributions in the form
of full papers, short papers and posters. The submission deadline for
full papers will be May, the 31^th 2021, for short contributions it will
be July, the 26^th 2021. For more detailed information, please refer to
our website https://informatik2021.gi.de/enviroinfo-2021
<https://informatik2021.gi.de/enviroinfo-2021>.
The EnviroInfo2021 is taking place in parallel to the annual convention
of the German Informatics Society (“Gesellschaft für Informatik”) under
the umbrella topic “Computer Science and Sustainability” and is
organised by the Technical Committee for Environmental Informatics of
the German Informatics Society. Under the general umbrella-topic we will
discuss, how environmental informatics can contribute to achieving the
United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Will it play a key role
or will the rebound effects of the use of ICT’s lead to the goals not
being achieved? Submissions covering a wide range of these questions are
very welcome.
Due to the interdisciplinary character of environmental informatics
there is a wide range of topics that were already central to previous
conferences and will be still held in the heart of EnviroInfo 2021:
·- Earth Observation and Monitoring
·- Environmental Modelling and Simulation
·- Applications of Geographical Information Systems
·- Environmental Information Systems
·- Core and emerging technologies in Environmental Informatics
·- Agent-based simulations in Environmental Informatics
·- Environmental Informatics in Smart Environments: Smart Homes,
Buildings, Cities, Communities
·- Citizen science in Environmental Informatics
·- Disaster risk modelling and assessment, disaster response
·- Environmental sensors and environmental informatics
·- Environmental informatics and the Atmospheric Environment
·- Sustainable transportation and energy systems
·- Managing and mitigating climate change and extreme events
·- Sustainable resource management and circular economy
·- Green Software Engineering
·- Robotics and reinforcement learning in Environmental Informatics
We still found some scholars who were willing to organize some special
tracks:
- Sustainable Usability and User Experience
·- Digital Sharing Economy and Sustainability
·- Modelling and Simulation in Environmental and Earth Sciences
- - Sustainable Mobility
- Environmental Health Informatics
- Advances and Gaps in Risk Information Management
- Earth System Observation and Computational Analysis for
Sustainable Development
Full Research paper are published within Springer's Progess in IS
Series. Deadline for Full Research Paper will be 31st of May 2021!

This years’ edition of the conference is organized by the Technical
Committee for Environmental Informatics of the German Informatics
Society by Prof. Dr. Volker Wohlgemuth (general chair) and the
co-chairs Prof. Dr. Stefan Naumann, Prof. Dr. Hans-Knud Arndt and Prof.
Dr. Grit Behrens.
