hiermit möchte ich Sie/Euch zu dem Vortrag “Mae” a pronominal innovation in Costa Rican Spanish von Jorge Antonio Leoni de León (Universidad de Costa Rica) am Donnerstag den 8. November 2018 (in Raum 41/215) einladen.

Abstrakt zu dem Vortrag:
The term “mae” evolved from a noun referring to a man (“Un mae vino a
comprarme la moto”, in English “a man sold me a bike”) to a word whose uses
ressemble a pronoun addressed to a class of objects (“El teléfono estaba cargado,
pero el mae no encendía”, in English “the phone was charged, but the guy would’nt
turn on”). In this talk I undertake all the spectrum of usages, with a special focus on
