Call for Participation

WhereCamp 2015

Navigation & Local Intelligence

Conference

Wherecamp Berlin ( <http://wherecamp.de> wherecamp.de) will take place on November 26th/27th, 2015

Wherecamp Berlin is Berlin’s premier conference focusing on the latest trends and insights around digital mapping, navigation and local intelligence. This year will mark the 5th anniversary of Wherecamp Berlin. We will once again be joined by industry leaders, experts and map enthusiasts who will share their vision and exchange ideas as to how maps, navigation and local intelligence are evolving and transforming our everyday lives.

In the 2000s, car guidance solutions started to gain mainstream popularity. At the time few could have predicted the rapid pace at which maps and mobile technologies would gain traction and start transforming the way humans navigate and interact with the world around them.

Today mapping and navigation are amongst the most popular everyday usages of mobile devices. Finding your location on a phone is no longer a novelty, it has become a standard consumer expectation. Increasingly mobile gadgets such as digital cameras, watches, and even glasses are becoming location enabled. Businesses are using maps to draw more meaningful local insights, and to optimize the way they operate. Digital maps, navigation and local intelligence have become an integral part of our everyday lives.

In the years ahead, how will consumer expectations and business needs continue to evolve, and what challenges will the location industry need to overcome? How will spatial data, routing algorithms, interactive maps and location sensors need to adapt? What new hardware will be required, and what will be the role of indoor positioning sensors, autonomous cars or drones? And how will big data and predictive analytics continue to transform the way businesses operate?

To help answer many of these questions we are looking for speakers working in the following fields:

● Navigation Industry

● Spatial Data standards and components

● Spatial Probes and big data

● Algorithms for processing

● User & location experiences

● Indoor positioning and applications

● Specialized Navigation application fields

● Contextual awareness

● eMobility

● Location based Advertising & Marketing

● Location Trends, e.g. in Real Estate

● Logistics with route optimization

● Autonomous cars

● Autonomous drones

Wherecamp Berlin 2015 will take place over two days. The conference day 1 will have a prepared agenda with a series of thought provoking presentations. The day 2 will be less formal with a barcamp style, with discussions and debates around “where” topics. The conference language is English. The location will be the Beuth University Campus (Luxemburger Straße 10, 13353 Berlin).
